You Will Receive Power
Peter Russell-Yarde
After the crucifixion the disciples hid away frightened to death of what the authorities might do to them. When Christ appeared to them after the resurrection they were much encouraged but they were still in no position to serve God. It was therefore necessary for them to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. The Lord told them not to leave Jerusalem for it was there that they would receive power when "the Holy Spirit is come upon you". Then on the day of Pentecost they were filled with the Holy Spirit and transformed from frightened men, into men willing to minister to others in His name, inspired and emboldened by the Holy Spirit. Just as Peter was unable to preach as he did on the day of Pentecost without the Hoy Spirit, so Christians today are unable to preach and teach in power or live according to the demanding rules of Christ unless they are similarly filled and empowered. This book explains in simple terms the sovereignty of God, the spiritual nature of life with God, and man's need of God along with the danger of attack by the evil one, the importance of sacrifice, what hell is and how spiritual power from on high can be received. It is essential reading for those wanting to more fully understand the deeper things of God and be a better servant and disciple of Christ.

Author
In hindsight Peter realised God had chosen him from birth and personally trained and directed him throughout his life. A Jew asked him to write on Genesis, and his rabbinic brother to write on Moses’ Tent of the Meeting.
Peter writes purely by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and has the gift of leading people into a deeper spiritual understanding of the word and a closer union with God. He led the rabbi to a personal meeting with his Messiah through his writing. See A Tale of Three Men.
A Malawian believer said, “Your books have changed my life.”
