Lost Souls: The Danger of Losing Sight of God

Peter Russell-Yarde

The interpretation of scripture must never be taken lightly, especially when someone respects your biblical teaching ability. Such was the case when a respected friend asked me the meaning of a particular verse from Romans with particular reference to the Jewish nation. My off-the-cuff explanation was not accepted, which meant that I needed to do some research in order to provided a more detailed explanation that would satisfy my very knowledgeable friend. Being a Christian writer, the more I researched the more I realised that the explanation would end up being so lengthy that it could easily be made into a book that might be of assistance to others. Also the subject matter was of great importance because it is just as important to learn from other peoples mistakes as it is from our own. There is always a danger of loosing sight of God if we are pig headed enough to believe we are right when, if we took time to think about things, we might realise we are either not completely right or definitely and totally wrong. God is always willing to teach us and lead us into all truth, but that requires us to be willing to listen to what He has to say through His word or through what others have to say. Pride and total belief in what we understand to be the truth can make us very deaf to what God trying to tell us. This explanation of Romans 11:8 may be lengthy but, hopefully, it provides a clear and unambiguous understanding of what it means.

Author

Peter was chosen by God from birth, and personally trained by Him through every aspect of his life in preparation for him writing books on scripture that have been leading readers into a deeper spiritual understanding of God and His word.

A Malawian believer recently wrote of his experience reading A Fresh Look At Easter:  I am alive because of this book. Your books have changed my life.

Peter has the God given ability to lead enquirers into a deeper spiritual understanding of God and His word, bringing them into a closer union with God. He not only led a rabbi to personally meet with his Messiah in Jesus, but has opened up the first testament to both the rabbi and his brother in a new way.
