Involved by Accident III: Into the Sunset

Peter Lambert

Seven years have passed since Stephen Leigh-Grace and Nita Patel decided that they cared enough for each other to share their lives together. Stephen is still driving his truck but all over the UK now and not Scandinavia as before when he first met Nita. She is still a detective with the local police force in the town where they live. Stephen’s daughter Emma left University with a 1st class honours in engineering and married Angus whom she’d met at Uni. They live just outside Bristol and are blessed with twins now, who Stephen adores. His father is still alive and well as are his In-Law’s Mary and Richard. Life is pretty stayed these days after the two years when the couple first met and had to deal with all the trauma surrounding Stephens’ apparent ability to be always in the wrong place when dramas kicked off from trafficking young women for the sex trade to every kind of contraband and even physical assault on more than one occasion. Where will they end up in another seven years. Enjoy this final book.

All my life, I've had this ability to imagine all sorts of stories, events, in my head. As a child at school, it was referred to by my teachers as ‘day-dreaming,’ with the exception, however, of one teacher who once told my mother, ‘Don’t let him lose that imagination he possesses; it’s quite brilliant at times.’ Later, as a young man, I’d create scenarios where I was the hero; in the army, for instance, winning battles against overwhelming odds or saving a village from destruction. All these themes were snapshots from everyday events, situations I’d witness that got my imagination going.

Fifteen years ago, I wrote the first book of what has turned out to be a trilogy, Involved by Accident. I wrote it as a bit of fun, just to see if I could create something passable as a novel. Here I am, years later, completing the final part of the story. We’ve followed Stephen Leigh-Grace through some of the ups and downs of his life, his relationships with his family, and with Detective Nita Patel. I hope you’ve enjoyed sharing their lives, their journey.
