Ezekiel: Prophet in Exile
Peter Russell-Yarde
Ezekiel, A prophet in exile, commissioned by God (Ez2:3 – 5) to speak His words to His people in exile, which is exactly what he did throughout his life, even when it was difficult for them to hear as in chapter 8.
It is a spiritual and prophetic book with many prophecies yet to come. Its theme is the glory and transcendency of the Lord their God over all the earth, for He used the heathen powers to bring judgement upon His people because of the depths of their descent into immorality and pagan worship. It was God cleansing their nation because of their unGodliness that brought about their exile, demonstrating that He is unrestricted to any one area or nation for he is the God of the whole earth. He promised that the nation would return to the promised land.
It is a book that provides the modern-day believer with much food for thought.

Author
In hindsight Peter realised God had chosen him from birth and personally trained and directed him throughout his life. A Jew asked him to write on Genesis, and his rabbinic brother to write on Moses’ Tent of the Meeting.
Peter writes purely by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and has the gift of leading people into a deeper spiritual understanding of the word and a closer union with God. He led the rabbi to a personal meeting with his Messiah through his writing. See A Tale of Three Men.
A Malawian believer said, “Your books have changed my life.”
